Paakantyi (Barkindji)

Corey is a Paakantyi/Maraura man from the Paaka/darling river NSW, and has been producing authentic, original artworks, wood carvings, didgeridoos etc etc for over 25 years.

Corey and his partner Elisha Mangal with Corey's two sons, Nullah and Nhurali, have a small art business named Miiki Puuri Mandi Aboriginal Art. In Corey's traditional Paakantyi (Barkindji) language, this translates to Aboriginal Art "for the eyes and spirit" - which is what their art, and lives are all about.

Nullah Payne is also linked on his maternal side to the Tati Tati and Wurundjuri mobs. Nullah enjoys painting, and has been doing also some small Mulga pendants for necklaces. He enjoys creating, and loves being out bush, and one day hopes to run our art business, and even give cultural tours.

Nhurali Payne also loves creating, and does his own little works, on canvas, and sometimes (when dad isn't looking) he carves designs into dad's succulent plants leaves. Nhurali too, is totally at peace in the bush, or exploring along the Murray, or the Paaka. Nhurali has maternal ties to the Yindinji tribe of FNQ, and also Torres strait Islands.

'Culture, country, art, love and happiness are our life, and we all enjoy creating together'.
