IartC Membership Categories

Indigenous Art Code is not currently accepting applications for Artist Membership while we review and update the application and eligibility assessment process. 

This work is intended to ensure the process is clear, fair, and consistent, and that applicants understand what Artist Membership represents and the information needed to demonstrate eligibility. 

Applications will reopen once this review is complete.

Code Signatories (formerly Dealer Members) are businesses and organisations that are engaged in commercial trade with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, both trading in original artwork and licensing artwork. 

• Code Signatories must adhere to the Code’s requirements in conducting business. They must also respect the rules set out in the company constitution. 
• Businesses may be Indigenous or non-Indigenous owned. 
• Membership is renewed annually with an annual fee of $275 +gst.
  

Code Supporters are people and organisations who support the objects of the Code and its principles but are not involved in commercial trade with Indigenous artists.

• Code Supporter Members are not bound by the Code but must support and promote the ethical principles of the Code and abide by the rules set out in the IartC’s constitution.
• Membership is renewed annually with an annual fee of $275 +gst.
