Inkwareny Artists of Yuelamu
Inkwareny Artists of Yuelamu is Anmatyerr people’s art centre and gallery situated three hours northwest of Alice Springs in the Tanami desert, Yuelamu, Northern Territory, Australia.
Inkwareny means ‘honey ant’ in Anmatyerr from the inkwareny songline.
Inkwareny Artists of Yuelamu formed in October 2023 from a desire to assert Anmatyerr identity through art. Inkwareny Artists of Yuelamu is self funded and governed by the Anmatyerr people and artists of Yuelamu.
We are currently painting acrylic on canvas and linen. We intend to make work with clay, wood and textiles.
