Membership

Artist Membership

Artist Members are practising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander visual artists who wish to add their voice to call to fair and ethical trade with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

• Members in this category must only be selling their own artwork not that of any other artists. If you are an artist selling your own work as well as others, please apply for Dealer Membership.
• Artist Members are not signatories to the Code but as Members, must abide by the rules set out in IartC’s constitution.
• Artist Membership is FREE.

Dealer (including art centre and gallery) Membership

Dealer Members are organisations and individuals who are engaged in commercial trade with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, both trading in original artwork and licensing artwork.

• Dealers Members are signatories to the Code and must adhere to the Code’s requirements in conducting business. They must also respect the rules set out in the company constitution.
• Businesses may be Indigenous or non-Indigenous owned.
• Membership is renewed annually with an annual fee of $170 + GST

• To be eligible for Dealer Membership you need to be currently trading. If you are yet to start starting in Indigenous art, please wait until you are doing so before applying.

Supporter Membership

Code Supporters are people and organisations who support the objects of the Code and its principles but are not involved in commercial trade with Indigenous artists.

• Supporter Members are not bound by the Code but must support and promote the ethical principles of the Code and abide by the rules set out in the IartC’s constitution.
• Membership is renewed annually with an annual fee of $170 + GST

• Businesses trading in Indigenous art are not eligible for Supporter Membership. Please apply to become a Dealer Member
