The Indigenous Art Code along with Arnhem Northern and Kimberley Artists Aboriginal Corporation (ANKA), Desart, Indigenous Art Centre Alliance (IACA), Aboriginal Arts Centre Hub WA (AACHWA) and Ananguku Arts and Cultural Aboriginal Corporation (Ku Arts) has been working quickly to respond to the unfolding COVID-19 crisis, providing support and advice to our members. Part of our work has been to collectively commission the Institute for Public Policy and Governance, University of Technology Sydney to write a Financial Options paper, interpreting the recently announced Australian Government stimulus packages, as they relate to our members.
This options paper/information sheet provides some information about federal financial support already available to Indigenous arts collectives, centres, and individual Indigenous artists across Australia. These supports may be added to over comings weeks and months. In addition, some state and territory governments are announcing other assistance packages that could help the Indigenous art sector and these are not included in the document.
The information is current as at 31 March 2020 but is likely to change a lot over the coming weeks and months. IartC will do its best to update as more information emerges. Please note this information sheet includes the announcements made on 30 March 2020 about ‘JobKeeper’ payments.
