Yalanji Arts presents hand crafted contemporary and traditional fine art and craft works celebrating Yalanji culture and its deep respect, knowledge and connection to the richly diverse rainforest and ocean environments of Kuku Yalanji country. Located in Mossman Gorge Aboriginal Community, on the border of the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest, Bamanga Bubu Ngadimunku Aboriginal Corporations’ Yalanji Arts Art Centre nurtures and develops artists to showcase Yalanji culture and generate individual and community growth. Fostered through the artistic expression of Yalanji culture, Yalanji Arts envisages an empowered united, proud and sustainable community. While acknowledging that their work is informed by traditional culture and the environment, artists are encouraged to push their understanding and technical skills to develop a contemporary and expressive approach to visually articulating their ideas. Kuku Yalanji country stretches from Cooktown in the north, to Chillagoe in the west and Port Douglas in the south. Mossman Gorge is located approximately 80kms north of Cairns.
