Make it Real a dedicated project in response to the Fake Art Harms Culture campaign that was initiated in 2016.
The Fake Art Harms Culture campaign is calling on the Government to tackle the problem of fake ‘Indigenous’ arts and craft being sold in Australia to prevent harm to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and communities. The project is delivered through the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia (AACHWA) — the peak advocacy and resource agency for art centres in WA. An Aboriginal-led organisation, AACHWA celebrates the strength of Aboriginal art and culture by promoting, empowering and connecting over 24 art centres, representing 5,000 artists, spanning 40 communities over 2 million square kilometers
