Wiradjuri

My culture and my Country is my passion. I am a Wiradjuri woman, grew up in Geurie/Wellington, NSW. My Mum "Gwen or Nan" was an Elder in our community. My Mum & Grandmother where born on the Nanima Wellington Mission, the oldest surviving Aboriginal mission in Australia near the Bell River. I have always been involved in the community especially with educational projects using my painting and artist skills.

I now am starting to sell my work commercially and begin a business for myself. My other passion is animals as I was first Aboriginal zookeeper at Taronga Western Plains Zoo for nearly 10 years. Then I went into education as an SLSO in high school classrooms mainly with students who have additional needs in the support unit. Also was an AEO for 3 years. Every year I love being involved in the NAIDOC events. Today my daughter, 2 dogs and doing my art are my greatest joys to be able to express my love of Country.
