Wilurarra Creative

Wilurarra Creative is located in the very remote Mirlirrtjarra (Warburton) Community, on the Ngaanyatjarra Lands of Western Australia. Since 2004, Wilurarra Creative has developed a strong Community Arts and Cultural Development framework that is ‘right-way’ for Ngaanyatjarra communities – this framework features a long-term, intergenerational and cross-cultural approach to skills development and learning that fosters unprecedented ownership over our projects, programs and facilities.

Wilurarra Creative delivers a diverse range of community driven activities and creative programs, co-created with 16-30 year old Ngaanyatjarra people. Wilurarra Creative programs include: music (recording, practice and performance), concerts, community events, fashion and Wilurarra Mangka (hair) salon projects, screen printing, design, metal work, photography, digital inclusion projects, video-making and publications – including our highly acclaimed Alanya project.
