I am a proud Yorta Yorta woman aged 58 who lives on the land of Kulin Nation ( traditional owners) Wadawarrung, Bunurong and Wurundjeri people. I am a Forgotten Australian/ Stolen generation and over the years have searched and tried to reconnect with family. ( Briggs) family name. Through my journey, I have joined as a member with Kirrip Aboriginal organisation in Melton and this is where I have found family and discovering who I am. As an Autistic/ ADHD person, it has always been a struggle to communicate with words. Discovering I was able to tell a story and communicate through my paintings, has helped me express my emotions and lived experience. I use both acrylic paints and acrylic pens to create my stories on canvas.
