Bio for BKE

I am a multimedia artist, I work with paint, film, photography, story-telling, poetry and digital art. I belong to Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung and Dhunghutti Nations on the mid north coast of NSW and continue to live in Gumbaynggirr (Buwanbi = Sawtell). My bloodline connects me to many aspects of Mother Nature and walking in both worlds, a powerful journey sharing through my creative gift from Mums Belly (the womb)

Always inspired by Wajaarr (Country) Dawaandi (reflections) my work is finding a voice for the patterns of country and their meaning in the connection space of our existence. I love sitting in forest and beach landscapes allowing country to share it's essence with me and then it is there that I follow the feeling of telling that story which is mainly a poetic expression.

I mix photography with paint, and poetry. Recently my words of poetry backed by drums, guitar, classical piano and cello clap sticks and vocals have proven to be an impactful experience exhaling a sound journey flow.

For the last 6 years, I have mainly painted acrylic on canvas, more recently I have been working digitally with Adobe Fresco, it feels progressive and experimental and exciting.

The digital platform gives me great inspiration to create blend and bring in new ideas and concepts of Artwork, but drives me to paint again as well which possess deep inspiration.

Art has always been a place that allows my expression to dare and bring in new ways of doing art.
My art is about creating a deeper connection to not only the art but the story of country sharing its essence with me and you.

Blending my Art with facilitated workshops I'm finding a deeper connection with groups/individuals who gain greater understanding to the importance of connecting and exploring who they are and where they are at in this world.
