Guugu Yalandji, Kalkatungu

Hi, My name is Chantel, I am Kuku Yalanji and Kalkadoon, Most of my mums side of the family live within Palm Island and Townsville. My siblings and I were taken of our parents but some of us were lucky to live with our father’s mother, my Nan. I’ve painted since I was a kid, and studied in 2019-2020 Cultural arts that’s how I found out that I was Kuku Yalanji and Kalkadoon.

Jalun Doonji Studio is what I want and where I will use for my art as an artist.
Cultural significance: It proudly incorporates your Kuku Yalanji heritage.
Uniqueness: The combination of "Jalun" (rainbow) and "Doonji" (water) creates a distinctive and memorable name.
Flow and rhythm: The name has a pleasant sound and flow, making it easy to remember and pronounce.
Professionalism: Adding "Studios" suggests a professional and creative space.
Overall, Jalun Doonji Studios effectively communicates my cultural heritage, artistic focus, and professional identity.
