I’m an Indigenous Artist from the Kimberley Region on the top of WA. My skin name is Napaljurri and as far back as I can remember Art was apart of my life. From grinding down ochre with my grandfather as a young child to covering my bedroom walls with art as a teenager to now creating my very own business to sell my Paintings and other forms or arts. I won my first National Art Competition when I was 10 yrs old painting a poster for Family Welfare, and was the Kimberley Art Prize overall winner this year2023. I get so much peace and joy from painting it’s like my own form of therapy and has been able to help me through my life, I would like one day to show the younger generation how they can also use Art as a form of therapy for their own mental health and healing.
