My name is Brendon Nilsson, I am a proud descendant of the Gundungurra tribe (NSW) whose ancestral and cultural areas are now known as the Blue Mountains. I was born and live in SEQ. I work as a park Ranger and Wildlife Officer am very passionate about working on and protecting country. I have always loved painting and art since I was a young child, my uncle (Daryl Nayler) who is a renowned Indigenous artist who lives in Victoria, taught me how to paint in Indigenous style in my late teens and taught me the traditions and belief system that is connected with this style. My artwork for me connects me to my heritage and culture and I find painting therapeutic and a great artistic release. I love using earthy tones and colours that remind me of nature.
