IartC acknowledges the Traditional Owners and custodians of Country throughout Australia. We recognise their continuing connection to the land, waters and skies, often expressed through art.

Broome CIRCLE

Broome CIRCLE

Broome CIRCLE's Artist Away from Home program is an innovative program that partners with Remote Community Art Centres to Support First Nations Artists while they are in Broome. Artists and Art Centres are under a lot of different pressures when artists are away for periods of time, this project allows artists to continue their creative practice whilst remaining connected to their home Art Centres through the establishment of a supportive studio environment.
Comprehensive MOU’s have been developed with each participating art centre, ensuring ethical, transparent best practice processes are in place from the very beginning of the project. Artists are supplied with Artist quality materials with the majority being hand primed on site.

Broome CIRCLE then arranges for finished works to be returned to the participating Art Centres. The works are then catalogued and sold directly from the Art Centres themselves, maintaining clear and consistent practice around Money Story, management of Copyright, pricing, marketing and resale royalty.
Art Centres involved include Warlayirti Aritsts – Balgo, Mullan and Billiluna, Mangkaja Arts – Fitzroy Crossing, Martumili Artists – Parnpajinya (Newman), Parnngurr, Jigalong, Punmu, Kunawarritji, Irungandji Warralong and Bidyadanga Artists – Bidyadanga.
