Kaya 'Hello' my name is Simone Hills, I am an emerging Noongar artist. I was born and grew up in the lower great southern Menang Boodja and have been living and working here on Whadjuk Boodja since 2010. I have a background working in schools with children in special needs education and love creating art pieces using both traditional and contemporary colours and designs. When I paint I find it grounding.. I feel connected to my home, culture and family. Karda Artwork is my artist name - with Karda meaning Hills in Noongar, I started my artist journey in 2022. Inspirations for my designs colours, movements and patterns we see in our animals and landscape. I enjoy creating artworks with traditional earthy tones and bright bold contemporary colours and designs.
