Wiradjuri

Kerrie Farr is a proud Wiradjuri woman and indigenous abstract artist, now residing on the Gold Coast (
Kombumerri Nation).
Kerrie has always been a creative spirit through art, dance, wood carving and craft. However, it is through art that she feels she can truely express herself. Kerrie utilises traditional indigenous techniques such as intricate dotting along with contemporary self-developed techniques. Being self-taught gives her the freedom to create from within, allowing her to connect indigenous and western cultures.

Kerrie's works are influenced by her Indigenous heritage and western living. Her brother's influence as an indigenous elder underscores her cultural continuity, intergenerational knowledge , and respect for Country. Her love of the land is depicted in an abstract way. Kerrie utilises acrylics to produce vibrant works of arts illuminating the beauty of the land, whilst her use of ink delivers soft delicate works of art.
